Samhain

The Samhain gathering is Oct 26 – Nov 2. Read the Call, and register (so we know how much food to buy)!
We gather, fae folk from all paths betwixt and between, in the time between in-breath and out-breath, in the space between worlds.

What have we lost? What have we put away, that is waiting to be retrieved and shared? What has served us before, that we no longer need? What have our ancestors seeded for us, which we gather together to now celebrate? What do we bring, in (ir)reverence for our hallowed dead, in service to our beloved living hearts?

Hear this call to Samhain, and weave in your stories and your silences with ours. We gather to co-create sanctuary, so that none in our communities may face hungry months alone. We gather to feast, sing, clown, divine, to recall our strengths and carry them with us into the coming year. We gather to heal, and to support each other as we are, complete with our Shadows. As the dark season closes in we honor the wild hunters of the night, and we honor their quarry – they sustain us, and we are them.

Pendulum

Date change; the Pendulum gathering (last of the Summer!) will be Sept 1-10; it starts Labor Day weekend, and ends with Great Circle (the semi-annual gatherette where we make decisions about running the Sanctuary).

Pendulum is usually the best opportunity of the year for faeries from all our different sub-communities to gather. Are there circles, conversations, or rituals you’d like to see happen? (For example, there’s the suggestion that we look at how we can address oppression in a way that’s both faerie and effective.) Would you like to organize a harvest feast, or perhaps be Kitchen Queen?

If you’d like to plug into planning, send a note to nomenus@nomenus.org

Great Circle Spring 2017

The Call to Nomenus Great Circle
March 18–19, 2017

We trust in the wisdom of the ancestors and the hope of the descendants, as we gather to tend the roots of radicalism planted decades ago, and to bring that spiritual DNA forth in a new flowering of sacred service.

In this time of deepening change, we call on members and friends of Nomenus to gather together in service to the ongoing renewal of the church.  For this 30th anniversary year of Nomenus, and let’s gather to visualize our continuing evolution and explore new ways of being together.

Great Circle is more than just a meeting.  It’s a gathering for those who love this community and want to help it evolve and thrive—It is an intense and magical process with the power to transform our community and our relationships to each other.

To do the work that lies ahead, we are creating interlocking consensus-based working circles, tightly bonded with love and trust, and surrounded by a supportive larger community. Participating in Great Circle is essential to that process.

Great Circle is a container for us to create sustainable, consensual relationships between Nomenus, the Wolf Creek Sanctuary Caretakers, and the wider community. We want to look at problems that recur for Sanctuary residents: patterns of conflict, trauma, martyrdom, scapegoating and burnout. We’ll discuss the necessary business of keeping the Sanctuary and the Church alive and thriving, and we’ll vision our shared future. This is the moment we can set our course collectively and steer our magic forward. This is the time when we can create a vision for the future of Nomenus & our communities.

Come to Great Circle! Your perspective that is unique, valuable, and necessary. Please bring the piece that only you can bring.  Are you willing to set aside stories that say you have no power, your voice isn’t welcomed, your dreams are too grand, or the Church is not willing to change? Let’s live in a story where each of us is not only welcomed, but necessary.

Samhain is Coming Oct 26-Nov 3

Wolf Creek Samhain 2016 Call

For so many of us in the community, this year has been especially difficult.  We have lost heroes and celebrities that paved the way for us.  Many have lost friends, family, loved ones, and community.   The political climate has been especially harsh for many, mixed with rapid gentrification, violence, displacement, and police brutality.   Intolerance and fear have been wide spread.

This Samhain we join together as a community to process our grief, let go of what is toxic to us, acknowledge our fears and our own mortality, recognize the gifts we have been given, and support each other as we wave goodbye to summer and enter into the dark half of the year.

Samhain marks the end of the harvest and begins a time of decay, introspection, and intuition.  We gather by the fire to light our way through the darkness, and to protect and cleanse.   The veil between worlds is thin, allowing supernatural beings, spirits, and those past to take their places beside us.  We invite our ancestors to join us as our table, in our music, by our fire and in our moments of ecstasy, joy and sorrow.   It is a time to tell stories of those who have passed before us.  It is a time for divination and magic, and to look forward to the year to come.

Then hear this call, to Samhain at Wolf Creek. Come celebrate with your community, past and present, come to be nourished, and to nourish others. Bring with you, your intention. What do you bring to that purging fire? What do you bring to greater table? What are you ready to let go of for good, what are you taking with you, into the winter?

We hope to see YOU there! Welcome HOMO!

SGRF: Sowing Bliss, Our Common Future (7/11-17)

SGRF is July 11-17; come join us! This is our annual gathering for gay/bi/queer cis and trans men. The entire land will be “faggot-only space” from July 1-20.

The Call  has much more information.
Please be sure to register! (It helps us buy food.)
Will you be our Kitchen Queen? (That means planning, not cooking, the meals.)

“Bliss is the accelerant which sparks the fire of revolution within; empowering us to spread that fiery consciousness of lovefilled transformation outward. Sustainability is predicated on an abundance of love – for ourselves, for our brothers, for all creatures. By gathering on the land, we recognize this place as a navel of the spirit, receiving the sustenance of bliss.”
